What it really costs

What your quote really comes to.

Type in the per person rate and the fee from your quote. The tool adds the facility fee and the correct county sales tax, which is where most quotes stop being the number you were told. What the state actually taxes on a wedding bill.

Tell it where the tent goes

15 towns and cities

Choose a town to begin. Every line that comes back carries the code section or the form it was read from, and where a municipality publishes nothing, this tool says so instead of guessing.

What this tool knows, and what it does not

Every threshold, fee and duration in it was read on the municipality's own code volume or its own application form, and the source is on each card. Six of the fifteen towns and cities publish no square footage at all, so for those the tool says a permit is required at any size, or that nothing is published, rather than borrowing a neighbour's number.

It does not know your site plan, your venue's own contract, or whether a village inside your town has a stricter rule. It cannot tell you about a beach or park permit yet, beyond pointing you at the authority, because those are a separate research pass. And it is not legal advice.

The long form versions, with every quote: tent permits town by town, when outdoor music has to stop, Hamptons private estate rules, and all the guides.
