No Long Island officiant we checked publishes a fee on their own site. NY Marriages in Huntington comes closest, stating a 50% deposit to reserve the date with the balance due during wedding week. Everything else is a WeddingWire figure, and the storefronts there are unusually complete. Said with Love in Brentwood starts at $150, with a rehearsal only option from $50. Your Story Ceremonies in Northport shows $85, though the storefront notes the rehearsal is not included. LI Officiant and NY Officiants in Huntington both show $250, as does Perfect Union Officiants in Babylon. Validated Vows in South Huntington also shows $250, but that figure is for a license signing only, with full ceremonies typically $400 to $550.
Rev. Kenneth Corbin in Lindenhurst and Rev. Bill Schulhoff in Patchogue both start at $400, and Schulhoff includes the rehearsal. Ceremonies of the Heart in Levittown lists a $500 basic ceremony and $550 custom, and Rev. Sarah Gutmann in Sound Beach starts at $500. Rabbi Brian Denker starts at $850 and Rabbi Mark Getman in Cedarhurst at $950, with Getman's storefront saying couples typically spend about $1,500. WeddingWire's Long Island officiant page runs $150 to $950 overall, with civil and non denominational officiants at $250 to $500 and rabbinic and interfaith at $850 to $950; Your Story's own storefront sits below that page floor at $85. The Knot's 2026 study puts the national officiant average at $260 and Zola at $325. The Wedding Report's 75 guest Long Island estimate is $313 to $383.
You should be able to read the whole script before the day
A good officiant sends a questionnaire and meets you, then writes a ceremony that sounds like the two of you and lets you read the full script in advance. Long Island Wedding Officiants, formerly Officiants at Church of Ancient Ways, offers custom written ceremonies, a Ceremony Builder option and co officiating with your own clergy, and states 25 years of experience. NY Marriages, founded 2006, states more than 13,000 ceremonies and issues a courtesy proof of ceremony within one business day. Dan Callahan in Great Neck lists availability seven days a week across all ten Long Island towns by name. The good ones also know the state mechanics: which clerk issues the license, the 24 hour wait, the 60 day validity, and that the officiant has to be registered where the ceremony happens. That last point is where online ordained friends create real problems. A bad officiant reads a template and mispronounces a name.
The rehearsal fee is the line most quotes leave out
On WeddingWire, the rehearsal is priced separately more often than not. Ceremonies of the Heart charges $75 for it. Rev. Kenneth Corbin and Perfect Union each charge $100. NY Officiants lists the rehearsal from $300, and Rabbi Mark Getman from $850. Rabbi Brian Denker's storefront says he does not generally run rehearsals and books one wedding per day. Rabbi Sara Shonfeld and Your Story Ceremonies both note the rehearsal is not in the starting price. Rev. Bill Schulhoff is the exception that includes it at $400. Premarital counseling is its own line: Rabbi Denker at $150 a session, Rev. Schulhoff at $75.
Then the paperwork. Confirm in writing that the officiant returns the signed license to the issuing clerk, and get their registration credentials before the deposit. NY Marriages takes 50% up front and the rest during wedding week, paid by Zelle, Venmo, check or cash. Custom written versus template is often an unlabeled tier difference; Ceremonies of the Heart is one of the few that labels it, at $500 basic and $550 custom. Travel to the East End is surcharged by most officiants, so ask before you assume the fee covers Montauk.
A registration number matters in the five boroughs, and travel matters past Riverhead
Pastor Bill Britton of Clergy On Call Ministries publishes his NYC officiant registration number, #17172, on his site. That matters for any ceremony inside the five boroughs, which register officiants separately from Long Island towns. LI Officiant is one of the few that names the East End and North Fork as home territory, with two ordained officiants, Michele and Jacqueline, under the brand. I Wed All in Miller Place covers the North and South Forks and lists Buddhist, Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant rites.
Interfaith and co officiated ceremonies are a real Long Island market. Rabbi David Katz and Fr. Michael Callahan have co officiated Jewish and Catholic weddings together for more than 20 years, per their Brides of Long Island profile. Rabbi Alan Stein in Woodbury provides a portable chuppah and ketubah at no charge and travels up to 300 miles. Expect an interfaith or co officiated ceremony to cost roughly two to four times a civil one.

What are the New York license rules?
The license is $40 outside New York City, both of you apply in person, and there is a 24 hour wait from the exact time of issue. It is valid for 60 days beginning the day after issuance. Any town or city clerk can issue it. Confirm in writing that your officiant files the signed license with that clerk.
Does my officiant need to be registered in New York City?
Any ceremony inside the five boroughs needs an officiant registered there, under rules that differ from Long Island towns.
