Long Island Photo Booths, Priced in Two Hour Blocks

Every price on LI Fotobooths' rate card is for a two hour rental: a Roaming Booth from $350, a Selfie Booth from $400, a 360 Video Booth from $525 and a Premium Booth from $700. A five hour reception needs three or four hours, and the overage rate is where the price lands. WeddingWire shows $100 to $1,800 for 51 Long Island booths; The Knot shows tiers only for 54. This page covers the five operators who publish real numbers on their own sites and the add on prices they charge for props and guest books.

Five operators publish rate cards, and they land at $700 to $1,200 for a standard booth

LI Fotobooths in Farmingdale is the fullest first party card. Beyond the four base booths, its own site prices a Video Guest Booth add on from $350 and a photo signature book at $125. A flower backdrop is $200 and marquee numbers are $75 each. The button and magnet maker is $350 for up to 100 pieces. LI Sound DJ Entertainment in Bohemia lists a traditional booth at $850, which includes an attendant and dual 2x6 strips plus a flash drive of every print. Props are $100 more. A ring light GLO booth is $1,295 and an audio guest book is $495. Long Island Photo Booth Rental publishes ranges rather than a single number: $700 to $1,200 and up for a standard booth, $900 to $1,500 for a 360 booth. JJ Pixx, in business since 2016, says typical Long Island rentals run $1,200 to $2,000 depending on how long it runs and how much is customized. PhotoTek NYC in Elmont prices its 360 booth from $900 for standard events to $1,500 and up for multi hour branded activations.

The marketplace floor is far lower. On WeddingWire, Picture Me Perfect Events in East Islip shows $100 and Happy Shots Studio in Coram $375. Flawless Pix in Manorville and Candid Moments Only in Westbury show $400 each. The Oak Photobooth in Smithtown is $895, and the top of the page is Vantastic Photos in North Babylon at $1,800. A $375 figure with no hours attached is a different product from an $850 booth with an attendant and a flash drive, and the storefronts rarely say which one you are looking at.

An attended booth gets 400 photos; a kiosk in a corner gets 40

The attendant is the product. A live attendant for the full rental pulls people in; an unattended booth in a corner gets 40 photos and an attended one gets 400. JJ Pixx sends an on site attendant for the full event. Selfie Booth Co., established 2016, sets up one hour before guests arrive with an attendant on site, and offers a choice of more than 50 backdrops. Ovation Photo Booth's 360 package includes two attendants and a four hour rental. LI Party Booths in Ronkonkoma sends a live host with its 360 booth, along with a red carpet with ropes and stanchions.

Prints on the spot are what make a booth feel like a party; digital only is a cheaper product, and unlimited prints is often an upgrade. LI Fotobooths prints on site from its Premium Booth while its Selfie Booth uploads digitally, and both come with unlimited sessions. A good operator brings a real backdrop and a proper lighting rig. A bad one at $375 is one person with an iPad on a stand.

Overtime past the 2 hour block is where the real price lands

Rentals are quoted in blocks. LI Fotobooths' whole card is two hours, and it does not state attendant, idle time or overtime terms on the site; LI Sound's pricing page does not state the duration at all. Ask for the hourly overage in writing. Then ask about idle time: if the booth sets up at 5pm and starts at 8pm, many companies bill the hours in between. Props are not always in, and LI Sound charges $100 on top of its $850 booth. Backdrops, custom template design and a signature book are add ons, at $125 to $350 on LI Fotobooths' card.

JJ Pixx warns that travel fees may apply outside its primary Long Island area, and Selfie Booth Co. requires a deposit to confirm. Audio guest books are the fast growing cheap alternative; LI Sound's $495 version comes back as a vinyl record and a heart shaped USB as well as a digital download. LI Sound also has a promo code, LI100, for $100 off, printed on the same pricing page.

A 360 booth needs an 8 by 8 foot floor and an outlet within 25 feet

PhotoTek NYC, operating since 2013, states its 360 booth wants a 10 by 10 foot space with 8 by 8 as the minimum, runs on battery and needs one 110V outlet within 25 feet. LI Party Booths' 360 platform is 36 inches across and rated for two or three guests, with LED studio lighting and a custom video overlay. Ovation runs a GoPro Hero 4K. Some Long Island venues will not allocate that footprint or the power drop, so ask the venue before the operator.

The 360 booth is also the tier where Long Island pricing is most consistent: LI Fotobooths starts at $525 for two hours, while Long Island Photo Booth Rental and PhotoTek both publish $900 to $1,500. The category has an adjacent specialty segment the big directories file badly. SHMAYLEYS Mobile Events Bar in East Hampton is listed as a photo booth on WeddingWire at $1,200 to start and is a mobile bar.

How much is a photo booth on Long Island?

First party cards land at $700 to $1,200 for a standard booth and $900 to $1,500 for a 360 booth, per Long Island Photo Booth Rental's own FAQ, and LI Sound's $850 and LI Fotobooths' $700 Premium Booth agree. WeddingWire's page runs $100 to $1,800. Ask what the block of hours is before comparing.

What is included in the base price?

The base price covers less than you expect. LI Fotobooths' base is two hours; LI Sound's $850 includes an attendant and a flash drive but props are $100 more. Backdrops, custom templates and a signature book are add ons at $125 to $350. Unlimited prints is often a tier above digital only.

Will a 360 booth fit in my venue?

PhotoTek says it needs a 10 by 10 foot space, 8 by 8 at minimum, and a 110V outlet within 25 feet. LI Party Booths uses a 36 inch platform for two or three guests plus a red carpet with stanchions. Some Long Island venues will not give up that floor space, so confirm with the venue before you book.

Is an audio guest book worth it?

It is the cheapest new item in the category. LI Sound sells one for $495, returned as a digital download plus a heart shaped USB and a vinyl record. LI Fotobooths' Video Guest Booth add on starts at $350. Ask how the files are delivered and when.
