This is the unbothered end of the East End. The Hamptons is across the bay putting on a show. Out here it's tasting rooms and barns, the Sound on the north side and Peconic Bay on the south. Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue, Raphael in Peconic, Sparkling Pointe in Southold, RGNY and Palmer up in Riverhead, Jamesport Manor Inn, Brecknock Hall in Greenport, and Jedediah Hawkins in Jamesport when you want rooms for the weekend. Time it around the wine. Harvest lands in September and October, when the vines are heavy and the light runs long and gold, which is exactly why those dates book first out here. Ask which vineyards pour their own label and which just rent you the view, because at a working winery the bar is half the reason you drove all the way out. July is hot and the vines are still green; September is the Fork showing off.
The Fork is a long drive from Nassau, and on fall weekends Main Road and Sound Avenue jam with pumpkin traffic that has its own legend. Lodging out there is mostly B&Bs and small inns, so a big guest list means blocking hotels back in Riverhead and running a shuttle the rest of the way. Don't skip the shuttle. It's a wine wedding. Nobody should be doing math about a third glass and a dark two-lane road at midnight.
Every winery splits the job differently. Some keep a real events team that runs your day the way a hall would, others hand you the barrel room, a caterer list, and their best wishes, and the contract tells you which one you booked. The contract also tells you whether a case minimum rides along. Ask what happens during crush, because harvest work does not pause for your Saturday and the equipment runs early. And ask when the tasting room closes to the public on your date, because every fall, somewhere out east, a stranger in a bachelorette sash wanders into someone's cocktail hour.
Sparkling Pointe prints the fullest grid. Its 2026 to 2027 packet lists a full venue rental at $3,000 for a winter weekday, $5,000 for a winter Saturday, $12,000 for a spring Saturday and $16,000 for a summer one. Every rental adds a $1,000 service fee and a $1,500 refundable deposit. Its separate Boutique Package with East End Events, up to 100 guests, May to October, is $22,000 on a Thursday and $30,000 on a Saturday plus tax, with bar and dinner inside.
Salt Air Farm in Cutchogue prints flat fees by headcount: $25,000 for up to 50 guests, $30,000 for 51 to 100, $42,000 for 101 to 200 and $50,000 for 201 to 300. Sailcloth tents and a bathroom trailer are inside those numbers; catering is not listed. Palmer Vineyards prints the fees around its rental rather than the rental itself: $800 staffing, $200 security, a $1,000 deposit and a five case wine minimum at 20% off. Bedell Cellars prints $15 per person for beer, soft drinks, mixers and ice; its site fee appears only on Here Comes The Guide, $10,000 to $20,000, and the 2026 brochure on Bedell's own server would not open for us.
The rest lean on marketplaces. Brecknock Hall in Greenport is $8,300 off peak and $9,600 peak on WeddingWire. RGNY in Riverhead is $15,000 peak and $9,000 off peak on WeddingWire, and its own customer care page says the ceremony costs nothing extra. The Vineyards at Aquebogue, the Lessing's hall with a kitchen, prints a 22% administrative fee but no per person rate. Raphael has no figure on any source we could reach.
Six of the nine venues here rent property and send you to a caterer. Bedell keeps an approved list and bars outside catering. Palmer states that it is not licensed for food or liquor and that the caterer is your contract. Only the venue's contract carries a number on this page; the caterer's is a separate quote, and wine sits on top of both. The off premise caterers in the vendor directory are the second contract.
The calendar compounds this. Suffolk recorded 1,039 marriages in October 2022 against 333 in January, per the state Department of Health, and October is harvest on the Fork. Sparkling Pointe's grid prices a fall Saturday at $14,000, $2,000 under a summer one, the only case we found of a Fork venue charging less for the month everyone wants. Music stops at 10 pm at Palmer, 11 pm at Bedell and Sparkling Pointe, and midnight at RGNY.
Whether the ceremony is inside the rental; Sparkling Pointe's packet says a vineyard ceremony costs nothing while WeddingWire lists $1,000, so ask which is current. The music cutoff by the clock, since Bedell attributes its 11 pm to local ordinance. Whether the tasting room closes to the public on your date; at Sparkling Pointe a party over 50 guests requires the full venue rental. And the deposit terms. Sparkling Pointe takes 50% at signing and 50% thirty days out, and Palmer keeps 50% of the rental from the day you sign.
