Catering house in the vines, the turnkey way to get the wine-country look.
Aquebogue is the first real run of vines you hit heading east on Route 25. On that stretch, 978 Main Road is the one address that hands you a ballroom, a garden ceremony and a kitchen under a single contract. The Vineyards at Aquebogue is a Lessing’s house. Rows out the window, catering-hall machinery behind the wall. That combination is the entire pitch, and for a lot of couples it is the right one.
Marketplace starting prices for this room run from $8,638 to $15,500 depending on which site you open and what guest count it assumed, and that tells you more about the marketplaces than about Aquebogue. The venue's own printed facts are the useful ones, starting with the absence of a site fee and a 22% administrative fee that staff do not receive. Three sources give three different ceremony fees, so ask for that line in writing, along with what the winter package for 100 guests includes and whether the 22% applies to it.

The FAQ page's answers did not render for us, the venue brochure is hosted on Flipsnack under Lessing's, and the marketplaces disagree widely on a starting price.
Their wedding page puts the room at up to 250 for a seated dinner and up to 300 for a cocktail-style reception, and states plainly that there is no site fee. It also promises “maximum one event at a time,” which on Long Island is worth more than it sounds: you are not sharing a lobby with somebody else’s sweet sixteen. Listed amenities run to a bridal changing room and a groom’s lounge, coat check, dance floor and air conditioning, with valet flagged as an additional fee. See their weddings page.
What they do not publish is a per-head number, a minimum, or a deposit. Nothing on the site carries a dollar figure of any kind. Bring your own benchmark: the cost calculator.
Half the directories file this venue under Riverhead and half under Aquebogue. Both are defensible. Aquebogue is a hamlet inside the Town of Riverhead with its own 11931 ZIP, and the address the venue uses is Aquebogue. Make sure you are not comparing two listings for one building.
One honest caveat. Their pages describe a vineyard setting, a vine-draped patio and a garden, but nowhere on the site do they claim to make wine or pour an estate label. That is a different proposition from a working winery, and the question “whose wine is on my list” is a fair one to open the tour with.
