Brecknock Hall is not a winery, and we have it filed under North Fork, which is our mistake and not theirs. It is an 1857 Italianate house on Peconic Landing’s grounds in Greenport, built by a whaling merchant whose grandfather signed the Declaration of Independence. Small inside, considerably bigger under a tent. The house does most of the work and the lawn does the rest.
Depending on which marketplace you open, this house has a site fee anywhere from $3,500 to $16,800, and Brecknock's own rates page declines to pick one. The FAQ is more useful than any of them, because it says the fee is tax exempt and lists what rides inside it, including the tent, and at 175 guests the tent is the expensive part. Catering is separate and limited to two approved firms, so the site fee is only part of the conversation. The fee grid by season and guest count is the document to get, and both caterers should quote the same menu.

The venue is operated by Peconic Landing, holds a Veterans Day wedding giveback every November 8 so that date is unavailable, and is absent from Zola and Wedding Spot.
Their FAQ is unusually direct about it. Seated dinner indoors: up to 82. Indoor cocktails: approximately 120. With a tented reception on the lawn: up to 175. So if your list is 130 people sitting down, you are renting a tent, and that decision changes the budget more than the venue fee will.
They also flag a discounted site fee package from November through April for groups of 82 or fewer, which is the season when the house alone can carry the whole event. If you are genuinely small and genuinely flexible on date, that is the cheapest version of this venue and nobody advertises it loudly.
Brecknock’s pricing “does not include catering,” in their own words, and they partner with two approved custom caterers. The tent company is also theirs to name. Photography, DJs and florals are yours to hire, provided the vendor is licensed and insured. That is a tighter vendor policy than most historic-house rentals on the Fork, and it is the first question to ask, because two approved caterers means two quotes and not much leverage between them.
Rates are not published. The site says venue fees and packages “vary depending upon the season and size/scope of the event and are quoted on an individual basis.” Take that at face value, and insist on the site fee as a separate line from the food number so you can compare it against anything else on the North Fork.
The house is owned and operated by Peconic Landing at Southold, Inc. alongside the Brecknock Hall Foundation, which began restoring it in 2004. It is listed on both the National and New York State Registers of Historic Places. Peconic Landing’s own page describes a 144-acre property with access to Long Island Sound for photographs, and dates the restoration to 2008. Friends for Brecknock Hall puts the original Floyd estate at 100 acres and the restoration at 2008 to 2010.
The consequence nobody mentions on a tour: your wedding is a guest on a retirement community’s residential campus. Ask how late amplified music can run outdoors, and get the answer from Peconic Landing rather than from a caterer.
