Nine venues on this site say on their own sites what happens when it rains, and three include a tent in the fee. For most of the rest, you have to ask.
Each of these says on its own site where the ceremony or the party goes in bad weather. De Seversky Mansion goes furthest and names the timing: the call to move inside can be made three hours before guests arrive. Riviera Waterfront Mansion adds a backup generator.

At these three, the weather answer is part of what you pay for. RGNY includes a floored Sperry tent in peak season. Brecknock Hall’s site fee includes a tent package for larger events, and Salt Air Farm uses sailcloth tents with clear side curtains for events over 50.

At these venues the published indoor capacity is well below the outdoor one, or there is no indoor room at all. The Maidstone seats 48 indoors and 110 in its garden. The Pridwin’s largest indoor room seats 125 against a lawn maximum of 200. If your guest list fits the lawn and not the room, the rain plan is a tent.

Nine on this site put one in writing on their own sites: Bridgeview Yacht Club, Crest Hollow, De Seversky Mansion, East Wind, Jericho Terrace, Oheka Castle, Riviera Waterfront Mansion, The Royalton on the Greens and Windows on the Lake. RGNY, Brecknock Hall and Salt Air Farm include a tent in the fee.
De Seversky Mansion is the only venue here that publishes it: three hours before guests arrive, per its FAQ. The Knot says Coindre Hall makes the call on the morning of the wedding, which Lessing’s page does not confirm.
Its sources disagree. The current rate card lists an indoor ceremony setup for up to 50 guests, while an older FAQ page says there is no indoor rain contingency. Ask which one applies to your date.
We read the labeled facts table on every one of the 164 venue profiles on this site and sorted each venue by what its row actually says, not by its tag. A venue is in the first table only if its own site describes what happens in bad weather. First party means the venue’s own website or rate card. Marketplace means The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola, Wedding Spot, Eventective, PartySlate or Here Comes The Guide, and the row names which one.
Sources were read in September 2026. Nothing here is added, rounded, averaged or estimated. Being on this page is free, and no venue paid for its place. A venue that sees an error can send a correction.
