East Wind Long Island

East Wind puts a price on its own website, which on Long Island is unusual enough to lead with. The Wading River complex runs four separate wedding venues, a 50-room inn, a spa, and 28 shops, eateries and a working carousel across 26 acres off Route 25A. The pitch is that the entire weekend happens without anyone getting back in a car, and that part of it holds up.

The number they publish, and the fee bolted to it

The homepage says “WEDDING PACKAGES STARTING AT $13,995”. Follow that into the individual venue pages and the footnote surfaces. The Southampton Premier package at The Inn starts at $13,995 for a five-hour reception, quoted “Based on 100 guests, 22% administrative fee and taxes.” The Veranda lists the same $13,995 against a winter package for January and February 2027. The Estate, the biggest of the rooms, lists $15,995 on those same winter terms.

Two things to be clear about. First, a 22% administrative fee stated in public is rare out here; two other Long Island venues we have found publish their own percentage, and both land on the same 22%: Fox Hollow in its FAQ (see our Jericho Turnpike page) and Watermill Caterers in Smithtown. Second, East Wind’s wording does not settle whether the $13,995 sits before or after that 22% and sales tax. Ask, and get the answer on paper. Across a 150-guest wedding the gap between those two readings is thousands of dollars, and our cost calculator will run it once you know which way it goes.

What East Wind does not publish is a per-head rate, a food-and-beverage minimum, a deposit schedule, an overtime rate or a ceremony fee. The packages are inclusive to an unusual degree: the vendor bundle covers five hours of DJ, six hours of photography with an album, florals, one free tuxedo after six paid, 10% off hair and makeup at the spa and a night at the inn. That makes an apples-to-apples comparison with a room that charges per head genuinely hard. Our pricing page is where we keep the county-wide comparison.

Four rooms, and they are not interchangeable

The site is explicit that this is four wedding venues on one property rather than one hall with air walls. The Estate holds up to 300. The Inn’s Southampton Ballroom holds up to 250 and comes with a private cocktail room attached. The Veranda tops out at 175. The Vineyard is the outdoor one, vows under a grapevine arbor with the rows behind you and an indoor fallback in the same building.

The Vineyard page contradicts itself, though. One line says it accommodates up to 150 guests; another on the same page says 125. That matters if your list is sitting at 138, so treat both numbers as unconfirmed until somebody at East Wind commits to one in writing. The homepage frames the property as a whole as “75 guests up to grand celebrations of 500+.”

The FAQ adds a detail worth having before you build a seating chart: the Vineyard seats 8 to 10 a table, the Inn and the Estate seat 10 to 12. A table of 12 is a different dinner from a table of 8. It is the difference between one conversation and three, and no floor plan drawing will tell you that.

What the FAQ commits to in writing

East Wind’s wedding FAQ is more useful than most. You are responsible for the guest number guaranteed on your contract. The final count is not due until two weeks before the date, which is a reasonable window. Add people after that and the floor plan gets redrawn and paid for before the event, not after it.

No outside alcohol, which they attribute to New York State liquor law. No outside food, everything prepared in house, and nothing may leave the property afterward, which they attribute to the Suffolk County Department of Health. So there is no boxing up what is left of the Viennese hour for the hotel room. Children between 3 and 10 get chicken fingers and fries or pasta. Ivory linens and napkins are standard and other colors cost extra. Every venue on the property has an indoor ceremony option, which answers the only real question anyone has about booking the Vineyard.

Hotel rooms are first come, first served. The FAQ says so plainly: there is no block sitting reserved and waiting on your guests to get around to it. Fifty rooms against a ballroom that seats 250 is arithmetic you should do in the first week, not the last month.

The carousel is not a figure of speech

The Shoppes at East Wind opened over the last weekend of October 2016. TBR News Media counted 28 locally owned stores, eateries and a carousel on the 26-acre property, an ice cream parlor and a pizza place among them. Owner Kenn Barra.

Northforker reported at the time that it was built in 1992 by Chance Rides, carries about 30 animals and 3,000 lightbulbs, and cost $3 a ride. That ticket price is from 2016 reporting and we have not re-checked it, so do not quote it to anyone. The point stands regardless: there is somewhere for the under-tens to go between the ceremony and the first dance, and at a Saturday wedding with a lot of families on the list, that is worth more than another passed hors d’oeuvre.

Who this actually suits

This is a weekend venue. If half your list is coming from off the Island, then an inn, a spa, shops and four differently sized rooms on one property solve a problem no standalone hall on 25A can solve. If your list is eighty people from Nassau who will all drive home by midnight, you are paying for infrastructure nobody will touch, and there are smaller North Fork rooms that fit that wedding better.

One geographic note. East Wind is at 5720 NY-25A in Wading River, which is Suffolk’s north shore rather than the North Fork proper; its own Vineyard page places the property 15 minutes from downtown Riverhead. The marketing leans on wine country. The arbor is real and the vines are real, but do not let out-of-town guests build a tasting itinerary on the assumption they are already in Cutchogue — and if the wine country is what you actually want, the real site-fee grids are on our Cutchogue page.
