Baldwin is not where anyone expects to find a wedding room with a water view, which is most of the appeal. The Coral House sits at 70 Milburn Ave with its big room facing the water, and by its own count it has been doing this since 1956. Five rooms, a deck and a rooftop. Somebody at your wedding has already been to a party here.
Coral House publishes per-room capacities on its own site, which is rarer on Long Island than it ought to be. The Americana Room, the largest, is listed at 175 to 375 guests. The Colonial Skylight Room runs 75 to 110. The Nantucket Deck takes 100 to 150. The Lakeside Room seats 50 to 90, and the Milburn Room is the small one at 40 to 70. The Presidential Room is the exception. It is described for smaller gatherings with no number attached, so that one you have to ask about. The Rooftop Terrace has no published number either, and there is a condition on it worth knowing before you fall in love with the idea.
The site calls the Rooftop Terrace an “exclusive space dedicated to guests of our Americana Room.” Book the Colonial Skylight for a hundred people and the rooftop is not automatically yours. That one sentence should decide which room you tour first if the terrace is the reason you called.
No prices. No per-head minimum, no facility fee, no deposit schedule, nothing on overtime. The homepage carries “Since 1956” and “500+ Guest Capacity” and stops there. Packages are described as customizable, which in Nassau catering-hall terms means the number comes out of a salesperson rather than a page. Things they do state, with no price attached: a maitre d’, a lobby hostess and a coat check attendant; a private bridal suite; a chuppah or floral canopy with aisle baskets and a white aisle runner; and unlimited parking. Four named suites appear on the rooms page — Classic Blue, Elegant Lounge, Fireside Library, and a Private Dining & Gathering suite.
The ceremony option is outdoors, overlooking the water, and the venue is consistent about the name: Milburn Lake. Four of the spaces are sold on that view — the Americana, the Colonial Skylight, the Nantucket Deck and the Lakeside Room. If the water is the reason you are reading this, those four are your whole shortlist, and the conversation gets short in a hurry. Everything else here is a good room in a building that happens to be near a lake.
