Indian and South Asian weddings on Long Island

Ten Long Island venues publish a dedicated South Asian wedding page, and several name the baraat, the mandap and the fire ceremony. Here is what each one says, in its own words.

Ten venues publish a South Asian wedding page of their own

10 venues

These venues describe South Asian weddings on their own sites, most on a dedicated page. East Wind Long Island and Leonard's Palazzo go furthest, naming the baraat arrival, the mandap and a fire pit for the ceremony. Windows on the Lake names a fire ceremony and halal food, and Crest Hollow Country Club names four South Asian caterers.

Caterers, decorators, a dhol DJ and henna artists

What to ask before you book the baraat

The horse. Leonard’s coordinates horses through outside vendors, and East Wind says it can accommodate a groom arriving on a horse or in a carriage. Ask where the procession starts and ends, and whether the town needs to know.

The fire. Leonard’s, East Wind, Windows on the Lake and Floral Terrace each name a fire pit or fire ceremony on their own sites. Ask whether it is indoors or out, and what the fire marshal requires. How tent and fire marshal permits work on the East End.

The kitchen. Ask whether the venue’s own kitchen cooks the South Asian menu, or whether a partner caterer comes in. Floral Terrace says it cooks Indian food in house, and East Wind welcomes outside caterers.

Ask your pandit whether he is registered to sign the New York marriage licence, because it is a separate credential from performing the ceremony, and one of the Long Island priests we list publishes exactly that. A civil signing and a religious ceremony can also be two events on the same day. Who can legally marry you on Long Island.

A fire ceremony needs more than a willing venue. An open flame at a catering hall needs an operating permit from the fire code official for that address, and no Long Island town publishes that permit on its own pages, so it has to be asked for by name. What a havan or a saat phere actually needs, and who issues it.

Short answers, with the source for each

Which Long Island venues allow a baraat?

East Wind in Wading River says it can accommodate a groom arriving on a horse or in a carriage. Leonard’s Palazzo coordinates baraat processions with dhol players through trusted vendors. Windows on the Lake names the baraat on its South Asian page.

Which Long Island venues allow a fire ceremony?

Leonard’s Palazzo, East Wind, Windows on the Lake and Floral Terrace each name a fire pit or ceremonial fire on their own sites. Confirm indoor or outdoor placement with the venue.

Which Long Island venues offer halal menus?

Crest Hollow publishes a separate halal menu. East Wind, Leonard’s, Windows on the Lake, The Fox Hollow, Majestic Gardens and Verdi’s of Westbury each mention halal options on their own sites.

How this page was built

We read the labeled facts table on every one of the 164 venue profiles on this site and sorted each venue by what its row actually says, not by its tag. On this page a venue or vendor is listed only when its own website makes the claim, and each row links the page where we read it. First party means the venue’s own website or rate card. Marketplace means The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola, Wedding Spot, Eventective, PartySlate or Here Comes The Guide, and the row names which one.

Sources were read in September 2026. Nothing here is added, rounded, averaged or estimated. Being on this page is free, and no venue paid for its place. A venue that sees an error can send a correction.
