We could not read their website, and that is the headline

This needs saying plainly rather than buried. The domain resolves and the server answers. The site is served over plain HTTP, and the HTTPS version sends a redirect straight back to HTTP, which produces a loop. Every tool available to us refused to follow it, so no first party page was ever read.

That is not a claim that the business is inactive. The Knot, WeddingWire and Eventective all list chateaulamercatering.com as the venue's site, alongside the same phone number, 631-225-0400, and the same Lindenhurst address. Search engines have indexed page titles on that exact domain describing a waterfront reception hall in Lindenhurst. The listings carry current pricing and the business appears to be operating normally.

It does mean one specific thing for you. Pages exist on that domain called Wedding Seated Packages, Wedding Platinum Seated Menu, Wedding Buffet Menu, All Inclusive Vendor Package and Promotions and Value Dates. Those are exactly the pages that would answer the money questions, and not one of them could be opened from here. Try the site in an ordinary browser before treating any figure below as final.

Two bay view ballrooms, and they are not close in size

Zola publishes the room capacities and nobody else does. The Atrium Ballroom takes 300 seated or 400 standing. The Bayview Ballroom takes 180 seated or 200 standing.

That gap is the useful fact about this venue. A 150 guest wedding does not have to be staged in a 300 seat room with the far third curtained off, which is the usual compromise at a hall this size. Ask which ballroom your date is being quoted for, because the answer changes the room, the price and possibly who else is in the building.

The rest of the property is described without capacities across The Knot and Eventective. There is a private glass walled cocktail room, an outdoor veranda over the Great South Bay, a multi level waterside stone patio, a waterfront gazebo, gardens with waterfalls and a bridal suite. No first party capacity chart was retrievable.

The published maximums do not agree. WeddingWire says 75 to 320 guests. The Knot says 300 plus. Zola says up to 300 seated. Take Zola's room by room figures over any of the whole venue numbers.

Guests can arrive by boat, which is not a figure of speech

The Knot and Eventective both describe a private boat entrance, with arrival by yacht offered as an option for the ceremony. On the Great South Bay that is a practical arrangement rather than a marketing line, and it is the single thing separating this venue from the other Suffolk waterfront halls.

It is also unpriced. Nobody publishes what a boat arrival costs, whether the venue arranges it or you charter it yourself, or what happens to the plan in weather. If it is the reason you are booking, it needs its own paragraph in the contract.

Three marketplaces publish three incompatible site fees

WeddingWire lists a reception site fee of $7,500 off peak rising to $9,500 peak, plus a $900 ceremony fee. It describes that fee as covering the bridal suite, chairs, china, cleanup, event planning, flatware, glassware, lighting and sound, linens, setup and tables.

Zola lists something else entirely: a starting figure of $5,000 for off peak dates and $10,000 for peak dates, framed as covering a full wedding including food, beverage and rentals. The Knot lists a $7,500 starting price with no breakdown at all.

Those are almost certainly not measuring the same thing. Zola's all inclusive framing and WeddingWire's room rental framing describe different products. We are not going to split them or average them, and no first party rate card was obtained, so there is no way to say which is current.

No per person catering figure is published anywhere. The only per head number in circulation is bar service starting at $20 per person, from WeddingWire. No food and beverage minimum, no guest minimum, no service charge percentage, no administrative fee and no maitre d' or bridal attendant fee is published by anyone.

Five hours measured from cocktail hour, with the ceremony added on

Zola gives the shape of the booking. The standard is five hours, measured from the start of cocktail hour to the end of the reception. The ceremony is priced as a separate add on, and additional reception time is sold by the hour.

No hourly overtime rate is published and no clock time or curfew appears anywhere. Five hours from cocktail hour is a tighter block than five hours from a ceremony, so read the start time carefully when a proposal arrives.

Catering and bar are in house only. Outside alcohol is not permitted and liquor packages are bought through the venue, according to Zola. Nothing is published about outside photographers or florists and no outside vendor fee is stated. The venue does run a page called All Inclusive Vendor Package, which suggests a bundled offer, and its contents could not be read.

Exclusivity is unresolved here, and so is almost everything else

The Knot says the venue offers exclusive use of its indoor and outdoor areas. That is not the same statement as one wedding at a time, and this is a building with two ballrooms. No source publishes an exclusivity policy, so treat the question as open.

There is no published rain plan. Two indoor ballrooms and an indoor cocktail room mean the fallback exists physically, and no policy, deadline or fee is written down anywhere.

No founding year, no architect and no building history turned up on any listing or on the venue's own domain. For a hall selling a waterfront setting on the Great South Bay, that is a blank we could not fill from here.

The practical advice is short. Open the site in a browser, ask for the seated package sheet and the platinum menu as attachments, and get the site fee, the ceremony fee and the service charge percentage inside one written quote. Then set that quote against the three different numbers the marketplaces publish and ask why they differ.
