Members and nonmembers, in the club's own words

Most private clubs on the South Shore leave the membership question to the phone call. Lawrence answers it in print. The club's private events page states that members and nonmembers are able to host events at the club, with no sponsorship clause attached and no member guest language anywhere near it.

We read the club domain and the Greenview domain on 10 September 2026 and found the same posture on both. Greenview describes itself as the exclusive in-house caterer and says it hosts public and private events, which is a caterer telling you it wants outside business.

That matters for a practical reason. A couple with no connection to the Village of Lawrence can start this conversation the same way they would with a hall on Sunrise Highway, by calling and asking for a date. Nothing we read asks you to produce a sponsor, join anything, or wait on a board. Confirm it anyway when you call, and get the answer attached to your date rather than to the club in general.

The rate card is from March 2024, and it prices the extras

The only first party pricing we could read is a wedding package PDF hosted on the Greenview site and uploaded in March 2024. Treat every line in it as the starting point for a conversation rather than a quote.

What the PDF prices: a $2,000.00 ceremony fee, a 1.5 hour after party at $3,500.00, an extra hour with bar at $15.00 per person, valet parking at $10.00 per person, and day-of coordination at $500.00. Bar upgrades are priced separately. A vodka bar is $750 and a martini bar is $500. A bourbon and cigar bar runs $500.00 with 50 cigars or $1,000.00 with 100. The Knot independently lists the same $2,000 ceremony fee.

What the PDF does not price is the wedding itself. There is no base per person rate anywhere in it. The maitre d', bridal attendant and coat check are described as included, with no service charge percentage and no administrative fee published to sit on top of the food.

Two first party capacity numbers that do not agree

The club's private events page says the ballroom, recently renovated, seats up to 300. The caterer's weddings page says seating is available for 50 to 500 guests. Both are first party. Both are published by parties on the same property.

We are printing both rather than splitting them, because the gap is 200 people and a couple planning for 400 needs to know which page is describing what. The likeliest reading is that 500 counts every space at once and 300 is the ballroom alone, but neither site says that, so we will not say it for them.

The Knot puts the venue in a 251 to 300 band and describes 40 to 300 guests across three spaces, which sits closer to the club's own figure. If your list runs over 300, that is the first question for the events office, and the answer should name the room.

Four kosher caterers the club names by name

Greenview holds the in-house catering contract, which normally ends the vendor conversation. Here it does not. The club's private events page names four glatt kosher caterers permitted to work the property: Chap A Nosh of Cedarhurst, Michael Schick, Prime Events by MC, and Elite Events. For a kosher wedding in the Five Towns, that list is the reason to make the call.

Greenview also publishes menus covering parve and dairy under Cholov Yisroel supervision, plus vegan and gluten free service, and it runs a vendor list and a vendor application page for everyone else. No outside vendor fee is published.

The property is a golf course and marina site of more than 100 acres, which is why yacht, golf and country all appear in one name. The wedding rooms are the ballroom, the grill room and the cocktail room, with a pergola patio and a terrace outside them.

What the club never publishes

Four things stay blank. There is no food and beverage minimum for weddings, only a 40 guest minimum attached to the published cocktail party and brunch packages. There is no service charge or gratuity percentage. There is no curfew, though the package is built as a five hour party with extra hours sold at $15.00 per person. There is no written rain plan, despite a patio, a pergola and a terrace being part of the pitch.

The Knot says the venue runs one wedding at a time. The club does not say that itself, so we carry it as a marketplace claim rather than a promise you can hold anyone to.

The Knot also lists peak season as May to October. Nothing on either club page restricts the calendar, so we read that as a marketplace pattern rather than a rule you have to plan a date around.

One more gap worth naming. Nothing on either site describes what happens when the golf calendar and the wedding calendar collide, and a club with a course, a marina and a ballroom has three operations sharing one car park on a Saturday in June. Ask what else is booked on your date.
