Mount Sinai is far enough east that half your Nassau guest list will complain about the drive and then spend the cocktail hour looking at the lake. Willow Creek is a 2005 golf course with a ballroom above it, and the one number it commits to in public is 240. Everything else about this club you will have to extract by phone.
On 9 June 2011, ClubCorp bought three Long Island golf properties from the Holiday Organization in a single transaction: The Hamlet Golf & Country Club in Commack, Hamlet Wind Watch in Hauppauge, and this one, then trading as Hamlet Willow Creek. ClubCorp now operates as Invited, and somewhere along the way the Hamlet dropped off the Mount Sinai sign. Older listings, scorecards and a few local directories still carry the long name, which is why searching for this venue turns up what look like two clubs.
The course itself opened in 2005, designed by Stephen Kay with Doug Smith, playing 6,611 yards to a par of 71. It is semi-private and takes public tee times, which is a different animal from the Commack club and changes what a Saturday afternoon on the property feels like.
That figure is on Invited’s own wedding page for the club and it is the only hard number they publish. The room looks over the golf course and the lake, guests arrive through a grand entrance foyer, and an on-site chef builds the menu. No square footage, no ceremony site named, no package pricing, no minimum.
The club runs willowcreekgcc.com alongside its page on invitedclubs.com. Both are current, both give 1 Clubhouse Drive, Mt. Sinai 11766, and the standalone site describes the place as semi-private and “open to all” while the corporate one leans on membership. Not a problem, just a sign that whoever answers the phone may be working from different material than whatever you read.
Three things to settle on the first call, then, since none of them are online: where the ceremony happens and whether the terrace or lawn is yours exclusively, what the food-and-beverage minimum is for your date, and whether another event shares the clubhouse that evening.
