Stonebridge Golf Links & Country Club

Smithtown golf club that books outside weddings with fairway views.

Golf

Gil Hanse built the golf course. Lessing’s does not lead with that and it probably should. Hanse and George Bahto laid Stonebridge out in Smithtown in 2001 — eighteen holes at par 70, a links routing that the golf directories say borrows from National Golf Links and Piping Rock. You are getting married on a genuinely good piece of ground, and the starting number attached to it is $99 a head.

The numbers the venue actually publishes

Off the venue’s own site, in its own words: “Capacity (reception): 350”, “Capacity (dinner): 350”, “Price range per person: Starting at $99”, “Advanced deposit required: $2,000”, “Room fee: None”, and ceremony available both outdoor and indoor. That is a short list, but it is more than most Suffolk country clubs will commit to in public.

“Starting at $99” is a floor and not a quote. It is not the Saturday-in-June number and nobody publishes that. The line worth circling is the room fee: none. A separate site or room fee is standard at plenty of clubs and it is the figure that quietly moves a package by five figures. Run a no-room-fee package through the cost calculator and see what it does to the total before you compare it against anything else in country clubs.

The course, and why semi-private is your problem

GolfNow and GolfPass agree on architect, year and par: Hanse and Bahto, 2001, 18 holes, par 70, semi-private and open to public play. Both put it at 6,262 yards from the blues, and neither is the club itself — the golf side of the operation does not publish a scorecard we could read. Take the yardage as approximate and the rest as solid.

Semi-private and public tee times mean the course is live on your wedding day. Fairway and bunker photographs get booked through the golf shop in advance, at an agreed hour, on agreed holes. That is a conversation with a starter, not something your photographer improvises at 6:20 while the light goes flat.

One wedding at a time is a guest’s sentence, not a clause

Stonebridge publishes “Max. affairs (at same time): 1” in the same spec list as its capacity and its deposit — the same field Lessing’s publishes at Coindre Hall. That is the venue’s own figure, not a review. Still get it as a written clause with your date named, because a published spec is not a contract term. If single-event exclusivity is part of what you think you are buying, and at 350 seats that is a fair thing to want, ask for it as a written clause in the contract with the date named.

The hotel link goes to Stony Brook

There is a “hotel” page on the Stonebridge site and it does not describe lodging at Stonebridge. It resolves to the Three Village Inn, another Lessing’s property, in Stony Brook Village, whose oldest structure that page dates to 1751. Rates are listed there at $139 to $259 weekday and $220 to $409 weekend. Useful if you want a Lessing’s room block with an actual price on it. Not useful if you assumed your guests could walk back to their beds from the ballroom in Smithtown. They cannot.

This is an unclaimed listing. If you run Stonebridge Golf Links & Country Club, claim it free to add your photos, capacity, packages, and pricing, and sit at the top of Country Clubs.
