877 Main Street in Holbrook is a Suffolk County catering hall of the old school, and the case for it is the kitchen. This is the banquet arm of a family that has been feeding this part of the island since 1976, and the food at a Lombardi wedding is not the afterthought it is at a lot of rooms this size. Come hungry to the tasting. That is the real tour.

Two rooms, and the spread between them is the whole question

Their site gives the Ballroom as 125 to 800 guests and the Glass Pavilion as up to 400, with the outdoor gardens used for ceremonies, cocktails and photographs. A range that runs from 125 to 800 in one named room is not really one room; it is a partitionable space, and how it partitions is the single most important thing to establish on a walkthrough.

So ask it directly. At 140 guests, which physical room am I in, where does the wall land, and is there another wedding on the other side of it that night. A hall that seats 800 is capable of running three parties at once, and there is nothing wrong with that as long as you know before you sign rather than at cocktail hour.

The family behind it, briefly, because it explains the food

Mamma Lombardi’s opened in Holbrook in 1976 as the family’s first business, built to put Michelina Lombardi’s recipes in front of paying customers. She had emigrated from Italy in 1968. She died on 25 July 2024 at 92, and Greater Long Island’s obituary listed the operation she left behind: Mamma Lombardi’s, Lombardi’s Market and Villa Lombardi’s in Holbrook, Lombardi’s on the Bay in Patchogue, and Love Lane Market in Mattituck.

Guy Lombardi, her son, is the founding chef. In a trade interview he described a bench that is almost entirely family: his son Phillip as operations manager across the locations, and his niece Sophia working directly with brides and planners. Three brothers and five sisters in the business. You will meet some of them, and that is not a marketing line so much as an operating structure.

No published pricing, and a website caveat

Nothing on villalombardis.com carries a price. No package tiers, no per-head, no minimum, no ceremony fee, no off-season or Friday discount. For a room that competes head-on with the Jericho Turnpike halls, several of which do publish their facility fees, that is a gap worth noting. Get the what-is-included sheet in writing before any deposit and compare it against the numbers we have collected on the pricing page and the rest of the catering halls.

One practical warning. Villa Lombardi’s and the family’s Patchogue venue run on the same website template and repeat identical marketing sentences on some of their room pages. We found a room description on one site returning word for word on the other. Do not read a page on either domain as a reliable description of a specific room. Walk both if you are considering both.
